No. The editor runs inside your browser. Opening uses your browser's file picker and saving is a normal download; nothing is sent to our servers.
It follows Photoshop's menus, shortcuts and tools and opens and saves real PSD files, so it feels familiar. It is young open-source software: great for everyday editing, but not every professional Photoshop feature is there yet, and it has no generative AI tools inside. For AI images, use HEEEXY AI Studio.
Yes. PSD and PSB files open with their layers, masks, text and layer styles, and you can save back to PSD.
Use Select › Subject or the Object Selection tool, add a layer mask or delete the background, then export a PNG to keep the transparency. For a one-click cut-out, use our free Remove background tool.
It is a full desktop-class editor, so it works best on a computer or tablet with a mouse or pen. It can open on recent phones, but the screen is small and the first load is about 13 MB.
